Hey everyone. I’m new to the Mum Club but will hopefully be attending the next brunch in Marlow if any of you are going too!

In the meantime, I wanted to share what I do for work as I think it might help other Mums who are in a similar boat to me.

I have been a SAHM since I got pregnant with my first born 5 years ago. Leaving my career wasn’t a conscious decision, it coincided with us moving out of London and then being hit with the first covid lockdown. As much as I absolutely love spending so much quality time with my children while they’re so little, I really missed having something for myself that wasn’t just me being Mum.

I’ve been thinking and researching over the past year for a job that will allow me flexibility. My first daughter is due to start school in September and I have an 18 month old too, and I still want to be around for school drop off/pick ups and during the school holidays, etc so it’s a tricky thing to find an employer who will offer this level of flexibility! Understandably of course.

About a year ago, I saw my friend had set up her own business as an Independent Travel Agent which I thought sounded amazing, however I was a bit skeptical as it all seemed a bit too good to be true. She was working it around her 2 year old twins and 3 year old son.

After a year of watching her and becoming increasingly interested (and a bit jealous!), I decided to chat to her and join her team – it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself in ages. I’ve now got a supportive team (which is mostly made up of other Mums on mat leave or who run their travel business in whatever time they have or want to, alongside their full time jobs), and I am able to bring in some income to support myself and my family.

I am able as part of my role to teach other people how to take advantage of this opportunity too – it’s something I feel so passionate about because it really has given me back a part of my life, and a fire in my belly that I was really starting to miss. I would LOVE to chat to anyone who is interested in learning more – it’s totally no strings or pressure, just sharing information on the business and answering any questions you may have. Please drop me a message at luxeescapesbylauren@gmail.com or whatsapp me 07759053333 as I’d love to share some more info with you.

Alternatively, if you’d like me to help you book your next trip, I’d also love to help you with that too!

A little bit more info here on how it works…

Did you know that when you book anything travel related – flights, hotels, cruises – you are paying commission as part of the price of the trip to the likes of booking dot com? They take up to 15% out of the price you pay and it goes to a faceless website.

By becoming an Independent Travel Agent, you can book travel for yourself, friends and family (or extend out to a broader client base if you want!) and earn than commission back yourself. You can also get lots of travel agent perks when you travel yourself, ie room upgrades, cheaper rates, free spa treatments, etc.

It’s low cost to set up and you get access to almost 100 well known travel partnerships who you can work with and leverage pre-negotiated rates, etc.

If you join and decide it’s not for you, there’s a 30 day money back guarantee. You are also not tied into a contract with notice to give to leave, you can leave at any time.
