Nine Perfect Strangers sees a group of stressed and frazzled grown-ups brought together at a wellness retreat run by an enigmatic and glamorous director called Masha (played superbly by Nicole Kidman). They’ve been promised the ultimate 10-day programme that will ensure total healing and rejuvenation, but the unorthodox methods are extreme – can the strangers handle it? Nine Perfect Strangers is certainly going to be the TV highlight of the month! This Way Up – Channel 4 If you were a fan of Fleabag or Catastrophe (both brilliant!) then we’d recommend you check out This Way Up – written by and starring the fabulous Aisling Bea. We follow Áine, a single Irish woman who is teaching in London, she is trying to move on with her life after a “teeny, little nervous breakdown.” We follow her as she navigates work, her love life, and her relationship with her sister Shona played by the sensational Sharon Horgan. It’s currently on its second series and it keeps getting better and better! Books My Child and Other Mistakes: How to Ruin Your Life in the Best Way Possible – Ellie Taylor Ellie Taylor is a stand-up comedian, actress and broadcaster – she’s relatable, funny and gets parenthood! My Child and Other Mistakes is a witty, refreshing, and very honest look at the challenges of modern motherhood. She asks the questions that nobody wants to admit asking such as – Do I want a child? Do I have a favourite? Do I wish I hadn’t had one and spent the money on a kitchen island instead?! Taylor writes candidly and openly about her own experiences; a must read for all parents. “Finally, a parenting book full of honesty, heart and humour – I loved it!” Jason Manford. Buy Now Malibu Rising – Taylor Jenkins Reid Malibu Rising is a perfect summer beach read – we loved it! Set in Malibu in 1983, it tells us the story of an unforgettable night for the Riva family. We join the Riva family for their annual end-of-summer party at their mansion and the anticipation and excitement levels are high. “Everyone wants to be around the famous Rivas: Nina, the talented surfer and supermodel; brothers Jay and Hud, one a championship surfer, the other a renowned photographer; and their adored baby siter, Kit. Together, the siblings are a source of fascination in Malibu and the world over-especially as the offspring of the legendary singer, Mick Riva.” The party spirals out of control and the family are left in tatters. Malibu Rising is glamorous, exhilarating and thoroughly enjoyable. Buy Now Podcasts Parenting Hell – Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe Parenting Hell by Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe is an extremely popular podcast (it’s been downloaded over 15million times) and has a devoted fan base. Like many comedians in lockdown, they found themselves without work and stuck at home – so they decided to join forces and create a podcast. Beckett and Widdicombe both have young children and understand the trials and tribulations of life with little people! They interview celebrity guests (such as Paddy McGuinness and Michael Sheen) and share hilarious stories – it’s silly, touching and laugh out loud funny! Listen Now Telling Everybody Everything – Katherine Ryan Comedian Katherine Ryan is hilarious and if you haven’t managed to listen to her podcast then we’d recommend you check it out. Her acerbic and cutting one-liners are legendary. She can’t help Telling Everybody Everything – her podcast covers pettiness, phone calls, honest chat, and some surprisingly serious topics too. The personal episode about baby loss is incredibly touching, she fights back tears and talks with such passion and empathy about the subject. Listen Now Events Geronimo Festival – Arley Hall, Cheshire Friday 20th August – Monday 23rd August 2021 Geronimo Festival has been described as Glastonbury for children!
