Spencer, directed and produced by Pablo Larraín, follows Princess Diana over the course of three days during a fateful Christmas spent at the Sandringham Estate with the Royal Family. We watch as Charles and Diana’s marriage dissolves. The film describes itself as “a fable from a true tragedy.” Kristen Stewart is utterly compelling as Lady Di and gives a sensational performance.

Mothering Sunday – Cinemas Nationwide (12th November)

Mothering Sunday is a British period drama film directed by Eva Husson. It stars Odessa Young, Josh O’Connor, Olivia Colman and Colin Firth. It’s set in the 1920s and follows an orphaned maid (Young) as she becomes entangled in a passionate love affair with Paul (O’Connor). The Hollywood Reporter described it as “one of the sexiest heterosexual period dramas in some time.” It’s meticulously shot and beautifully acted.

House of Gucci is directed by Ridley Scott and has already been generating quite the buzz – no doubt it will feature heavily in the upcoming awards season. The film is based on the 2001 book, The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed. The book focuses on the shocking 1995 assassination of Maurizio Gucci and the subsequent trial of Patrizia Reggiani. The film has an all-star cast featuring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Salma Hayek, Jared Leto and Al Pacino.
