No Time to Die will be the 25th film released of the James Bond series, and it will also be the final film for Daniel Craig. There has been a buzz about this film for the last few years – especially since we found out that Phoebe Waller-Bridge had a key role in the writing of the screen play. The White Lotus – Sky Atlantic

A black comedy-drama written and directed by Mike White – The White Lotus is set at an exclusive Hawaiian resort and focuses on the lives of the staff and guests over the course of a week. It has already received much acclaim from critics. It features an ensemble cast but clearly the standout performance is by Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler’s Mum from American Pie!) The plot twists and turns and explores sex, class, money, drugs, and death. The dialogue is incredibly witty and cutting, the characters are brilliantly layered, and it is completely hilarious! We loved it!

BOOKS

Magpie – Elizabeth Day

Elizabeth Day is an award-winning journalist and has written four novels and a Sunday Ties bestselling memoir. Magpie, her latest novel, is already being described as the most gripping psychological thriller of the year. It tells the story of Marisa and Jake and their new lodger, Kate. “Something about Kate isn’t right. Is it the way she looks at Marisa’s boyfriend? Sits too close on the sofa? Constantly asks about the baby they are trying for? Or is it all just in Marisa’s head?” Magpie is stylish, thrilling and incredibly well-written – the twists and turns of this novel are exhilarating.

Beautiful World, Where Are You – Sally Rooney

Sally Rooney is finally releasing her follow-up novel after the enormous success of Normal People and it’s already receiving rave reviews. Beautiful World, Where Are You tells the story of Alice, Felix, Eileen and Simon. “Alice, Felix, Eileen and Simon are still young – but life is catching up with them. They desire each other, they delude each other, they get together, they break apart. They worry about sex and friendship and the world they live in. Are they standing in the last lighted room before the darkness, bearing witness to something? Will they find a way to believe in a beautiful world?”
