Aire’s ancient baths can be found in a historic basement just off the Strand and are lit with candlelight and are nothing short of magical. With five different dipping pools, there’s also aromatherapy and steam rooms and a unique heart-shaped wine bath (*sadly alcohol-free) that you can dip into post-massage. Find out more Be Kind to Yourself World Kindness Day – 13th November Monday 13th is World Kindness Day, and we’re pretty sure you’re giving out a lot of kindness to other people in your life, but you might need to be kinder to yourself. Whether it’s booking a spa day, treating yourself to some time out, a swim, or a yoga class. Or just a big glass of wine and a delicious meal. You deserve it, so be kind to yourself. CARNABY STREET – 2nd November Our personal favourite. This year’s theme is ‘Carnaby Universe’, where a solar system of neon lights will be strung up in the sky above Carnaby’s brilliant shops. EDINBURGH – 17TH November Expect dazzling lights and magical rides in the heart of the capital city. With George Street hosting one of the major Christmas light installations, this free event features choirs from all over Scotland and fantastic fireworks. The finale of the afternoon is a spectacular pyrotechnical display, marking the official switch-on of Edinburgh’s Christmas lights, accompanied by Santa’s “flying” visit. COVENT GARDEN – 7th November This year’s theme is golden bells, and on 7th November, the world-famous Christmas lights will be switched on with over 40 gigantic bells with bows, 12 giant baubles and 8 spinning mirror balls. BATH – Provisionally 15th November Soak up some festive atmosphere as Bath’s most iconic streets and buildings are brought to life with magical illuminations. Bath’s Christmas light trail is a unique light experience that you cannot miss! See A Giant Moon… Leonardslee Illuminations, Horsham, West Sussex, Want a more peaceful opportunity to see some festive lights? Take the kids to see a captivating after-dark light trail at Leonardslee Gardens. Wrap the family up and head there to see the historic 240-acre Grade I Listed estate transformed into a magical world *and a giant moon! There’s also a Victorian funfair, a small Christmas market, and a selection of seasonal food and drink on site (translation: mulled wine).
