So naturally, we needed to test it out. TMC Co-Founder Jessica Lawes went along with her mum, and this is what she thought. What is a Sleep Day? “The day includes full use of the spa facilities from 9am to 5pm, a 60-minute Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Body Treatment and a delicious Afternoon Tea. It’s the ideal way to take some time out, reboot and set yourself up for a good night’s sleep. *If that’s ever possible with young children.” Book now Do You Actually Nap? “I had a Deep Relax Full Body Massage. It took around 60 minutes and was blissful. I usually go for a facial on a spa day, but the massage was exactly what I needed. I really enjoyed the use of Aromatherapy Associates aromatic oils; they smelt amazing but also helped me completely relax. Afterwards, we used the sleep room and silently lay on the comfy beds for a good hour. I didn’t nap, but it is the perfect place to have one. The grounds that the hotel and spa are set in are beautiful. It’s not a big spa, but that means it isn’t busy, which I liked. I could have gone straight to bed after the day, but unfortunately, I was not staying over, and it was time to get the kids.” What is Horwood House & Spa Like? “I took my mum along with me. She is always a great help with the children even though she doesn’t live nearby, it was nice to do something sans kids with her. It’s only when you spend time together without the children that you realise you hardly ever spend one on one time together. So, this is a PSA to take your mum to a spa! Next time I would certainly stay over to make the most of it, and I’d also like to try out ‘Harry’s Bar’ for lunch.” Tags sleep day, sleep retreat, spa
