It’s romantic yet child-friendly, with large family rooms (some even have separate sleeping areas). They will set up a cot if you need one. Babysitters can also be arranged. Get room service and enjoy a glass of wine on your balcony while taking in that sea view. They also do one of the best afternoon teas on the island!” Find Out More Best Boutique Hotel: Longueville Manor “The only AA Five Red Star Hotel in Jersey, Longueville Manor, is a sophisticated yet relaxed home away from home. Luxurious and family-friendly. You can even pre-order your baby food, wipes and nappies so you have everything you need when you get there! Babysitting can also be arranged prior to your arrival. “ Find Out More Best Self-Catering Accommodation: Les Ormes Resort “A great option if you prefer to stay in an apartment and they have a brilliant hair & beauty salon on-site so that you can book a treatment or two while you’re there. “ Find Out More Best Farm Stay: Durrell Wildlife Park “Fancy something a bit different? Why not go Glamping with some of the world’s rarest animals right on your doorstep? Stay in a yurt at Durrell Wildlife Park and wake up to the sound of the lemurs and flamingos. Entry to Jersey Zoo is included, which is a ‘must do’ in itself.” Find Out More Where to Eat/Drink Best Brunch Spot: The Beach Club “This place has relaxed beach vibes from brunch right through to dinner and cocktails. They make a great breakfast with a stunning sea view. It’s just a stone’s throw from the sand, so go for an early brunch (we’re up from sunrise anyway, right?), and you can be on the beach before it gets busy. ” Find Out More Best Date Night: Trésor “Trésor has everything you could want from a date night. It offers the most incredible seasonal menu inspired by the flavours of Jersey. Friendly atmosphere, great cocktails and the perfect location for a post-dinner stroll by the beach. It only opened in December and is already a firm favourite for us. ” Find Out More Best Bakery: Four “Mouth-watering pastries and the best sourdough! ” Find Out More Best Coffee Shop: The Merchants “This place really knows its coffee and serves up some of the best on the island. There’s a playroom too, so the kids will be entertained while you get your caffeine fix. ” Find Out More Best Pub: The Portelet Inn “A firm favourite for a family meal out. Great food, a friendly atmosphere, and lots of outside seating with views of Portelet Bay. It even has a play area to keep the kids entertained (and soft play inside). “ Find Out More Best Bar: The Porter’s Store “The Porter’s Store isn’t just a cocktail bar. It’s an experience. Tucked away on Wharf Street in the town centre, you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for the pink Ps to find your way in. It’s like stepping into a time capsule, and the cocktails are incredible! “ Find Out More What to Do Best Walk: The Railway Walk “A pram-friendly walk or hire a bike and cycle – it’s mostly car-free and suitable for the whole family. The path covers four miles from the harbour of St Aubin to Corbiere Lighthouse, with plenty of places for a coffee or wine stop along the way. Time your arrival at Corbiere for low tide, and you can walk to the lighthouse.” Find Out more Best Beach We’re spoilt for choice with breath-taking beaches at every corner of the island making it impossible to choose just one, so here are my top three: 1. St Brélade’s Bay: “There’s a reason it was voted one of the best beaches in the British Isles. Golden sands, beautiful waters, safe swimming. There’s lots to do with family-friendly activities, watersports, and plenty of restaurants to choose from too.” Find Out More 2. Plémont: “This stunning beach is only uncovered at low tide. Be prepared to hike down lots of steps to get there (and remember you’ll have to come back up!), but it’s worth it. At the bottom, you’ll find a sandy cove with rockpools, sea caves and even a waterfall! Plémont Bay Café is halfway down the steps – a great spot for breakfast, lunch or cake while watching the tide come in/go out.” Find Out more 3. Long Beach: “A popular spot with young families because of its long stretch of golden sand, calm sheltered waters, and the beachside park for little ones. My favourite bit is near Gorey Harbour, as the beach is overlooked by Mont Orgeuil Castle, which is worth a visit too.” Find Out more Best Family Day Out: Amaizin’ Maze “Fun for all the family. The kids (and you!) will love all the activities, the farm animals and the tractor rides. There’s an indoor play area if you get a wet day. The coffee is pretty good too!” Find Out More Best Sight-Seeing Attraction: The War Tunnels “The Channel Islands were the only part of Britain to be occupied by German forces during World War II. The best place to get a true picture of what Jersey was like is The War Tunnels. The underground tunnels span 1000 metres and bring to life the stories of locals living under German command. “ Find Out more Must Do: The Battle of Flowers “A significant highlight of Jersey’s events calendar, The Battle of Flowers is now one of Europe’s biggest floral carnivals. Dozens of floats, dancers and performers parade through the streets to music. It takes place in August, with an early evening or a moonlight option this year. “ Find Out More Must See: “Be sure to catch a sunset from one of our gorgeous beaches out West. Grab a blanket, a BBQ and a cold bottle of wine and head down to St Ouen’s Bay. You’ll find mile after mile of beautiful sand. It’s a hotspot for surfers, and in the summer, some restaurants have live music out on their terraces. “ Find Out more Top Tips Best time to come – Summer! There’s no better place to be when the sun is shining. We’ve got turquoise waters and golden sands to rival the Med… but we’re just a short flight away from the UK. Jersey’s very safe and family-friendly. You don’t need a passport to get here, and there’s no need to change over any currency!
