Form a Meditative Routine
Form a Meditative Routine

Dr Sophie Mort, Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Expert at Headspace, suggests how you can weave mindful moments into your day:
1. Take a pause: Stop, pause, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths — in through the nose, out through the mouth.
2. Judge less: When you realise, you’re getting caught up in overly critical thinking, catch yourself, note it and let it go.
3. Be active: Movement can boost our feelings of happiness and wellbeing. This can be as simple as a mindful walk or being out in nature.
4. Connect: Reach out to people around you—family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours.
5. Wind down before bed: Sleep is challenging when you have small children, so it’s important to get to sleep better by winding down and powering off at least 30 minutes before bed.
